Natural Autumn Ombre

Today's look is a take on Michelle Phan's Autumn Ombre. If you haven't seen her video yet, go watch it because it's awesome. I really liked this look but it's not something I would wear every day or even as a more glam look. So, I decided to take it, do a little re-mix, and make it a wearable natural look. It's not quite as fun, but I think it still captures the essence of Michelle's. So first watch her video, then follow the same steps but with the below shades instead. I'll be using Urban Decay's Naked Basic Palette.

Step 1: Apply Naked2 to your lid as a base.
Step 2: Apply Faint in your crease.
Step 3: Use the highlight color Venus in your inner corner and bring it down around your lower lid, almost half way. Apply Naked2 to the outer half of your lower lid.
Step 4: Line your top lid with Crave. This is such a pigmented true black, so be careful how much you're using here.
Step 5: Line your waterline with a white liner. Or if you have a rose gold color, like Michelle used, you can use that instead. I don't have one (but it's on my must haves list!) so I used Rimmel's Soft Kohl Eye Liner Pencil in 071 Pure White. And don't forget to curl your lashes and apply mascara!

That's it for the eye look. Really simple. Lastly to complete the ombre lip, I used Revlon ColorStay Ultimate Suede in 025 Socialite as my lip color. Then, using the same technique Michelle used (told you you should watch her video!), I ombred my lip with Faint. It's just a little bit darker than the lip color and more natural looking. So there you have it - a Natural Autumn Ombre look.

Urban Decay Naked 3 Tutorial

Pigs are flying! I finally used my Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette! Alright, so I only used two shades, but that's way better than I've done over the past 4 months. (Has it really been that long?) This look is super simple and really pretty for the spring. It's just a fresh, bright rosy look. Hope you enjoy! Step 1: Start with a base or primer. I uesd a Sigma Eyeshadow Base in Provoke which is just a nude base color. Then apply Burnout over all but the very outer corner of your upper lid. Step 2: Apply Buzz in the outer corner. Step 3: Line your top lash line with a dark brown to create a softer look. I used Stila Smudge Stick Waterproof Eye Liner in Damsel. Step 4: Line your waterline and inner corner in white. I used Rimmel London Soft Kohl Eye Liner Pencil in 07 Pure White. Step 5: Curl your lashes and apply mascara. I used a combination of L'Oreal Voluminous Carbon Black and L'Oreal Telescopic Carbon Black. Face: It Cosmetics ...

L'Oreal Telescopic Carbon Black Mascara

Let's talk mascara. I am in love with the L'Oreal Telescopic Carbon Black Mascara. I also love the Voluminous Carbon Black mascara, but it's a little difficult to work with, which prompted me to pick up the Telescopic mascara in the Carbon Black line. The Carbon Black line is exactly what it sounds like - meant to be a super black mascara, more than usual. The telescopic does not disappoint in this. I think it's even blacker than the Voluminous. To compare these two, the Voluminous is a volumizing more dry formula with a dense bristle wand, while the Telescopic is a lengthening, wet formula with a plastic applicator. (They do have a Telescopic mascara that isn't Carbon Black if you find the Carbon Black mascaras too black, like if you have lighter eye lashes.) Hopefully you can see from the above photo that this wand is a little different. It's a plastic applicator that has four sides. On each of the corners, it has the little spikes that a normal wand ...

Dare To Be You

Oh my gosh. I still can't get over this article. Go read it here . You can come back. I'll wait. You're back. Okay. Good. Because I want to tell you exactly how true this is. I spent 27 years of my life trying to be someone else, trying to be someone who I was not created to be. I looked to everything and everyone and wanted what they had, what they were doing, their entire life. And I chased money, fame (yes, I'm admitting it), and everything in this world you can think of. (Except illegal things. I have my parents/upbringing and God to thank for that.) You name it, I wanted it. And I wanted to BE everything. I literally have a document sitting on my external hard drive entitled, "Who I Want To Be" and let me tell you, it includes about 20 different "jobs" if you will. And each of them can be pin-pointed back to a single person or shall I say..."inspiration." I wanted to have a blog (hey, look-y here!); I wanted to have a YouTube chan...
