Nashville Jan 2025

3 week roadtrip! Here we go!

I had a rough time with long trips at one point so now I stop often and don't do long days. (I ended up with my whole body feeling the vibration of the road for the rest of the day. Then every time my anxiety would spike or I would dissociate, I'd feel that same vibration. It made me feel a bit dizzy and nauseous. For months before it stopped. No thanks.) So first overnight was in Champaigne, IL and then continued to Nashville. Mostly it was your typical roadtrip and but we stopped at The Grateful Shed in Wisconsin Dells. If you've never been or are passing through, I highly recommend. I picked it because they allow dogs, so Raiya got to come in. It's basically and indoor food truck place, but the decor and everything is SO unique. It actually kind of reminded me of something Disney would design, which is a huge compliment. It was a bit loud due to it being such an open layout, but I'm super happy we stopped!

Day 2 we arrived in Nashville right before supper time. We were staying downtown at Placemakr. I knew this place because I used to live right across the street at the Encore and literally watched the building go up. The place was really nice and the staff was great. Parking sucks as you can imagine but its downtown so totally expected. We didn't use the ammenities but the gym was great, pool and outdoor area looked big, and they had some good working spots and game tables too. The internet in the unit we were staying at wasnt so great for working though. It kept kicking me out and had a hard time screen sharing on Teams, but I did get by. (I worked the whole week.)

Raiya's ready to go! She loves going new places
In her carrier at The Grateful Shed. It was a little overwhelming for her (first time at a restaurant like this) but she loved watching all the people and sniffing the food in the air lol
There is quite literally a bus suspended in the air. It had the old bus seats in it with tables where you could sit. The garage doors combined with outside area would be super fun in the summer!
Made it to Nashville!

We rolled in Sunday night and I was working Mon-Thurs so the days we didn't do much. Monday was kind of cold. We took Riaya out at lunch time and then walked up to the grocery store in the Viridian to grab a few things like turkey and fruit. Then Monday after work we walked Raiya again and went over to The Assembly Food hall. I got a burger from Pharmacy Burger which I never got around to while I lived in Nashville. We walked a little down broadway and called it a night.

View down 2nd ave over to broadway from our place
Bridge and Ascend out the other side from the window
Raiya LOVED looking out the window. and because they were floor to ceiling, she could just walk right over and look out
We had a corner unit (2 bedroom) on the 12th floor and it was darn near perfect
View from the other side of the living room

I challenged myself this trip to dress fun. I've been SO stuck in my Tribe Kelley sweats in the winter and fitness/baggie tshirts in the summer. Like since moving back to WI. Disney has helped me start dressing fun again and I wanted to keep that going. I only bought the hat and a couple of tahirts for the trip which was pretty darn good!<\p>

I'm a weird one and like to sleep with a little light so I left the curtains open to downtown lights =)
Raiya hanging out in bed in the morning. She sleeps in her crate but sometimes I pull her into my bed in the morning
Looks kinda warm. Kinda not. Like 30s but at least it was sunny!
Here we go! She did so well in a downtown environment and waiting 2 blocks to be able to pee
Path down by the river, dog park, and Ascend
Mirror selfie. Still wearing the crocs lol
She's so happy to just watch people and dogs
New fav picture because pink neon is the best =)
Pharmacy burger - farm burger and sweet potato fries

Day 2 I started to have stomach pain (and other fun things!) on and off. I partially wonder if I had a bit of food poisoning because as much as my body doesn't like certain foods, I've not had problems with Disney and eating their junk. So day 2 was pretty "normal" between work and that.

Day 3 was still not fun, but we went over to The Diner for lunch. I lived right across from it and never got there, so it was on my list. Way smaller than I thought and I ended up just getting a waffle because I didn't want to upset my tummy further with all the yummy breakfast things it doesn't like. Boo =( We also walked across the pedestrian bridge at night, which is my favorite. That bridge is my romantic fairytale...that never happened...but that's okay! Then we walked broadway a bit more and my mom got Raisin Canes. And I ate 2 chicken strips because wow was I lacking on protein this stretch.<\p>

Day 2 outfit. Complete with fur boots. And a jacket I hadn't put on yet
Raiya being curious
Raiya watching all the people and things. She wanted to go towards broadway SO bad. She's got such FOMO lol
There's that bridge =)
Day 3 outfit and a really bad framing shot lol! And my lover tshirt for later on in this roadtrip. Also peep the boots....
I swear she loves me lol
Not THE bridge. But the second and sometimes prettier bridge! (We were on THE bridge)
There she is in the background =)
The Nashville skyline from the bridge!

Day 4 it rained all day. Which was fine. We planned for it. But it was just a chill day before leaving. I did finally wear my new cowboy boots though. Well, where you could see more than just the toe. It took me a decade to find the right boots. And although I look at them and am sad there's no sequins/sparkle, I LOVE them. They're basically neon in person and just look so cool and unique.

Another morning in bed. Licking lol
She is just the cutest. Always looking at you like "what are we doing, I'm bored"
Day 4 outfit!
Ugh, look at these boots! So FUN!
I couldn't escape the hat. Everything is better with the hat!
Oh hi! Pretty...background lol
Rainy day hanging out in bed while I take meetings. She's SO easy to travel with. As long as she's with me, she's just fine
It's the Raiya show now. Watching out the window.
She's just so cute...
Her favorite toy. Still. It's so old and barely even crinkles anymore. Yet she always picks it!
And we conclude the Raiya show with a "moooommmmm" look

Day 5 we packed up and hit the road for more fun! Here we go!!

Urban Decay Naked 3 Tutorial

Pigs are flying! I finally used my Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette! Alright, so I only used two shades, but that's way better than I've done over the past 4 months. (Has it really been that long?) This look is super simple and really pretty for the spring. It's just a fresh, bright rosy look. Hope you enjoy! Step 1: Start with a base or primer. I uesd a Sigma Eyeshadow Base in Provoke which is just a nude base color. Then apply Burnout over all but the very outer corner of your upper lid. Step 2: Apply Buzz in the outer corner. Step 3: Line your top lash line with a dark brown to create a softer look. I used Stila Smudge Stick Waterproof Eye Liner in Damsel. Step 4: Line your waterline and inner corner in white. I used Rimmel London Soft Kohl Eye Liner Pencil in 07 Pure White. Step 5: Curl your lashes and apply mascara. I used a combination of L'Oreal Voluminous Carbon Black and L'Oreal Telescopic Carbon Black. Face: It Cosmetics ...

L'Oreal Telescopic Carbon Black Mascara

Let's talk mascara. I am in love with the L'Oreal Telescopic Carbon Black Mascara. I also love the Voluminous Carbon Black mascara, but it's a little difficult to work with, which prompted me to pick up the Telescopic mascara in the Carbon Black line. The Carbon Black line is exactly what it sounds like - meant to be a super black mascara, more than usual. The telescopic does not disappoint in this. I think it's even blacker than the Voluminous. To compare these two, the Voluminous is a volumizing more dry formula with a dense bristle wand, while the Telescopic is a lengthening, wet formula with a plastic applicator. (They do have a Telescopic mascara that isn't Carbon Black if you find the Carbon Black mascaras too black, like if you have lighter eye lashes.) Hopefully you can see from the above photo that this wand is a little different. It's a plastic applicator that has four sides. On each of the corners, it has the little spikes that a normal wand ...

Well hello...

Oh I am SO hijacking this blog. Can you hijack your own blog? Don't know but I'm doing it! I love seeing how much I've changed. I love seeing how much I loved this. And so I'm here again. I miss writing. I miss the images, photos, creating. I miss it all. I don't even care that I'm pretty sure no one ever saw, no one still will probably ever see. It's for me. And that's enough. So here I am. How many years later? I'm a bit of a different person. In a bit of a different season. It's a hard season to be honest. I floated through life until the last few years. And I can't even blame covid. I ran from one thing to another, lots good! Some not so great, but I didn't know I was running. Now I do. And now...it sucks. Because as much as I'm grateful to know and understand. It feels like it has a hold of me. And I am so completely stuck. I have been for a while now. Well over a year. And I hate it. No idea where I will go from here. Somepl...
